Sydney + Grant at the State Fair.
Corn dogs, carnival lights, and a couple who wanted their wedding to feel like the best day of an Iowa summer — because it was.

The Story
Every photographer should be lucky enough to shoot one wedding like Sydney and Grant's. The Iowa State Fairgrounds hand you a century of americana — the Grandstand, the midway, painted signage everywhere — and a couple bold enough to marry there gives you permission to have fun with all of it.
The images swing between classic and carnival: honest portraits in fairground light, then the midway after dark, neon doing the work no studio strobe could.
From the Day
Photographing Iowa State Fairgrounds
The setting
The Fairgrounds photograph like a period film set — brick, steel, hand-painted signs, and the best neon in the state after dark.
The timing
An evening timeline is everything here: golden hour on the grounds, then the lights come on.
Unconventional venues
Fairgrounds, ballparks, breweries, family land — if your venue says something about you, I'm in.
