Blair + William outside Mount Vernon.

The hills around Mount Vernon roll harder than most of Iowa — and Blair and William's farm wedding sat right on top of them.

Twenty minutes from Cedar Rapids, the land changes: the flat opens into ridge lines, and the light gets theatrical in the evenings. Blair and William married on a farm out here, with the ceremony facing west for exactly that reason.

Their gallery moves the way the day did — morning quiet in the farmhouse, vows in open air, and a long golden hour across the ridgelines that gave us portrait light most city venues would pay for.

Close to home

Mount Vernon is minutes from Cedar Rapids and Iowa City — a rural setting without the drive.

Local knowledge

This is my home ground. If you're marrying anywhere in the Cedar Rapids corridor, I likely already know your light.
